How deep do you need to cut concrete?
It depends on what the cut is for. Openings and sections being removed need a full-depth cut. Control joints in a new slab are normally cut to at least a quarter of the slab thickness, with a third sometimes specified, and a minimum of about 25mm for wet-cut joints, so the slab cracks along the line. Service trenches are cut to a set depth so anything below stays intact. Our floor saws cut to 400mm and wall saws to 600mm. Core drilling goes through any thickness, and wire sawing handles any depth, which suits thick bases and heavily reinforced sections. Tell us what the cut is for and we will recommend the right depth and method.
